Wisconsin Governor-elect Scott Walker is considering trying to use funds intended for high speed rail for other rail projects in Wisconsin, instead of trying to divert the funds to highway projects, according to the Milwaukee - Wisconsin Journal Sentinel.

US Secretary of Transportation Ray LaHood said recently that if states did not choose to use high speed rail funds for building high speed rail that the money would have to be returned to the Federal government.
