The University of Houston has been awarded a $2.3 million research grant from the US Department of Energy to build a testing facility for offshore wind turbine materials and components, according to a story in the Houston Business Journal.
UH officials hope the National Wind Energy Center, to be located at the UH Energy Research Park, will further the school’s ascension in the ranks of energy research.
