The Texas Complete Streets Bill (SB 513, HB 1105) was reported out of the Senate committee on Transportation & Homeland Security by a vote of 5 to 4 on Monday, May 16, and can be considered by the full House and Senate, having passed out of the related House committee earlier.
Bike Texas has issued an action alert asking supporters of Complete Streets to write their Texas Senators asking them to support the bill, which needs 21 confirmed votes to be brought to the floor of the Senate for a vote.
Streetfilms.org has recently published a short film “Complete Streets: It’s About More Than Bike Lanes.”
[Disclosure: Houston Tomorrow has a petition in favor of Complete Streets both in support of this bill and in support of local governments in the Houston region adoption Complete Streets policies]
