The Houston-Galveston Area Council Transportation Policy Council (TPC), consisting of elected officials from the eight-county region, unanimously approved the 2010-2011 Unified Planning Work Program (UPWP) on Friday. The UPWP details all regional planning activities for the next two years. The UPWP was unanimously approved by the H-GAC Technical Advisory Committee earlier this month.
Among other items, the plan calls for quantifying the region’s mobile-source greenhouse gas emissions, performing commuter and freight rail analysis, authorizing county-level transit plans, and updating the Regional Aviation Plan for the first time since 1991. H-GAC solicited comments at a public meeting on July 2, and the 30-day public comment period ended July 10. H-GAC included all public comments in Appendix I of the UPWP.
Final Draft of the 2010-2011 UPWP, approved July 24, 2009 (pdf, 2.8 mb)
