Conor Friedersdork has initiated a one-month project, “The Future of the City”, to explore the ins and outs of urban life, according to The Atlantic.
The project is inspired by Conor’s love of cities and will include his daily observation on city life. His introduction page says:
I’ll weigh in with daily observations on city life, urban affairs, the history of cities as seen through the exceptional lens of The Atlantic archives, and the future of the city—but mostly I’ll act like the friend you visit in an unfamiliar metropolis, the one who has lived there a couple years, absorbing a lot, but less than a true expert. Everyday we’ll go out walking together, I’ll point out all the interesting stuff that I see, and if something in particular catches your eye, you’ll have enough information to go explore that thing in as much depth as time and interest afford.
A “Houston by the Numbers” page posted to his project site includes a random assortment of information, including the fact that Nolan Ryan played with the Astros for 8 season.
For readers interested in adding to the project’s insight on Houston or other topics, Conor invites readers to partake in the action by emailing .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address):
