Regional Plan for Sustainable Development almost ready for review

A draft of the Houston-Galveston Area Council’s highly anticipated Regional Plan for Sustainable Development will be released for public comment on Tuesday, October 1st, according to H-GAC:

Our Region 2040 is a high-level plan for Our Region to be one of the world’s greatest places to live, work, and succeed by the year 2040. The draft plan covers the topics of economic development, housing, transportation, the environment, healthy communities, and resiliency. The draft plan is the result of the efforts of hundreds of organizations and thousands of people from across the Houston-Galveston Area Council’s 13-county service area over the past three years.

On October 1, the draft plan will be available online for review and feedback at H-GAC will also host a series of open houses at locations across the region October 7-12. Details are available on During these open houses, you will have the opportunity to view the draft plan, learn about the plan’s major recommendations, ask questions, provide feedback, and show your support. There will also be a chance to win a door prize for participating.
