Prop 12 bond funds approved for 290 projects

The Beltway 8 and 290 interchange and other portions of the US 290 corridor have been approved for improvements by the Texas Department of Transportation (TXDOT), according to their press release.
The projects are funded by Proposition 12 bond funds allocated by the Texas Transportation Commission. TXDOT believes that $2.9 billion in improvements are needed in the corridor, with $1.4 billion remaining unfunded.

Crazy thing about this is… I was 14 and I can remember construction on 290 begining right before 34th street. Today 34 years ago… Only in Houston, as far as I know, will you see the same freeway built twice….three or maybe even four times…
