Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter recently assembled a new Mayor’s Task Force on Tax Policy and Economic Competitiveness that will create a plan to overhaul the city’s current tax structure to remove barriers and provide incentives for economic growth and development.
The group, made up of CEOs, local business owners, lawyers, labor leaders, and development and construction professionals will compare Philadelphia’s taxes with other cities and analyze how the current tax structure affects business growth and the cost of real estate development in the city, says an article in the Philadelphia Business Journal.
