Paul Weyrich, best known as one of the founders of the modern conservative movement but also a prominent supporter of public transit, passed away earlier today according to the Associated Press. One of his final articles, coauthored with Bruce Speight and published five days ago in the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, advocated funding public transportation first in the proposed government infrastructure stimulus package.
