Midtown to hold block party

A Midtown Block Party will be held on October 2 at the “superblock” at McGowen and Main. The event will celebrate the Midtown Management District’s tenth anniversary.

A significant City park called “McGowen Green” was proposed for the site in 2002. Some of the fundamental concepts of that proposal were used in the creation of Discovery Green downtown, but no movement has occurred toward McGowen Green. More here.
