Houston’s Metro will seek to envision “a financially sustainable future transit system that will grow ridership while evolving into more than just a transportation system of last resort for those who cannot drive,” according to a new Request for Qualifications.

The effort is being headed by Metro board member Christof Spieler. Spieler told Houston Tomorrow the board committee had its first meeting last Friday. After a consultant is chosen, a citizen task force will be created.
