The discount bus service Megabus, which has been operating in Texas for less than two months, has discontinued their route between Houston and Austin, according to Houston CultureMap:
Travelers will find that, when attempting to book a trip through the online reservation system, Austin is no longer a destination option when departing from Houston, nor vice-versa.
KHOU reports that the route cancelation has something to do with “a legal conflict with two of the bus companies that contract with it.” (Kerrville Bus Company was serving Megabus routes between Houston and Austin.)
The services from Houston to New Orleans, Dallas and San Antonio will continue, but the pickup and drop-off location has changed. The new stop is the parking lot of 815 Pierce Street, directly across the street from the METRO Downtown Transit Center.
