The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center plans to demolish the historic 1952 Prudential office building on Holcombe on January 8, 2012, according to a news alert from the Greater Houston Preservation Association (GHPA).

MD Anderson has been meeting with GHPA who was advocating for keeping the building, and has taken measures to preserve the large lobby mural [shown in the above photo], which will be put on display in New Mexico, home of muralist Peter Hurd.
