A strong majority of City of Dallas residents would give up 5% of the streets to be dedicated to non-automobile modes of transportation, according to a new survey noted by Bike Friendly Oak Cliff.

Many residents supported even more and 79% said they would be willing to accept a 5 minute longer automobile commute if it meant more walking and biking, according to the study (pdf) commissioned by the city of Dallas as part of its Complete Streets Initiative.
