Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa announced that the City of Los Angeles will attempt to build 50 new pocket parks over the next 2 years, according to the NRDC Switchboard.
On the same day, the LA City Council voted to sell 5 acres of Elephant Hill in the El Sereno neighborhood in a way that will permanently preserve it as open space.
