After almost 15 years in the Katy area, Forbidden Gardens, a museum highlighting ancient Chinese culture, will be closing soon to make way for the Grand Parkway’s potential Segment E expansion between I-10 and US 290, according to the attraction’s website and as reported by Swamplot.
An exact closing date has not been determined as of yet. However, the cultural attraction, first opened in 1996, will extend its hours to accommodate visitors, notes its website:
To any of our guests who would like to visit one last time, we are extending our hours and will be open Monday through Thursday 10 am to 2 pm. and Friday, Saturday, and Sunday 10 am to 3 pm.
Harris County Commissioners Court recently challenged the Texas Department of Transportation to build the Parkway after learning that the state agency had more funds available for such a project than originally thought.
