A group of Houston independent bar and restaurant owners brought together during the recent controversy regarding proposed increased City of Houston parking requirements have formed a new organization, Organized Kooperative on Restaurant Affairs, that will advocate for small business issues, according to 29-95.
The organization plans to become its own charitable nonprofit and will host occasionally events to raise money for Houston charities as well as open a not-for-profit bar where monthly profits will be donated to a charity chosen by the patrons, according to CultureMap.
