The Houston-Galveston Area Council (H-GAC) will be holding four open house meetings in February to discuss the recently-launched Regional Transit Framework Study, according to the H-GAC website. The meetings, to be held between February 8 and February 18, will discuss the project goals and seek input on the region’s transit needs. Information regarding the meetings can be found at the bottom of this page, on the Houston Tomorrow events calendar, or at the H-GAC website.
According to the first Regional Transit Framework Study newsletter:
[The study will] identify and prioritize future transit improvements to meet the needs of the growing region. The Framework study will include technical evaluations of regional land use, socioeconomic conditions, existing and planned infrastructure and transit service. In addition, transit services in other U.S. cities will be evaluated to learn how proven transit service concepts can be incorporated into the Houston-Galveston region. Recommendations from the RTFS will be incorporated into the 2040 Regional Transportation Plan (RTP).
H-GAC launched the study in October and hopes to complete it by September.
According to the H-GAC website:
The meetings will include informative exhibits, a presentation, and informal conversations with the study team. There will be an open house from 5:30 p.m.– 6:00 p.m., a 15-20 minute presentation beginning at 6:00 p.m., and the open house will continue until the meeting concludes at 7:30 p.m.
