In preparation for the 3.5 million additional people expected to join the region by 2035, the Houston-Galveston Area Council has released a planning guide for improving the pedestrian environment. The publication is entitled Pedestrian Pathways: A Planning Guide for the Houston-Galveston Region. According to their website:
Pedestrian Pathways is a tool for engineers, planners and policy makers to introduce why and how to plan for the pedestrian environment. This user-friendly guide illustrates what a good pedestrian experience entails and provides valuable tools and tips for pedestrian planning, design, and implementation.
