Houston-Galveston Area Council is calling for bicycle-pedestrian planning studies:
The Houston-Galveston Area Council (H-GAC) is seeking proposals from local governments or other eligible project sponsors to conduct planning studies in areas of the region where there is strong demand for pedestrian and bicycle travel. The objective of the planning studies is to identify cost-effective strategies and implementation projects that improve safety and mobility for pedestrians and bicyclists.Study recommendations will ideally lead to locally sponsored pedestrian and bicyclist projects for possible inclusion in the Regional Transportation Plan (RTP) and future Transportation Improvement Programs (TIP).
Local governments may particpate, including many special districts. There will be a strict deadline for applications at 3pm on Friday, August 13th. Previous studies from this prgram have been conducted in Third Ward, Gulfton area, Montrose area, Galveston, Sugarland Town Center, Missouri City, and the Airline Improvement District.
Please visit the H-GAC web site for details.
