A German town of 2,500 people, Wildpoldsried, is now generating 321% more energy than it uses annually, selling the excess for around $5.7million, according to Care2.com.
The town began 14 years ago working on efficiency and deployment of a variety of renewable energy sources, according to BioCycle.
