Includes green building ideas

The Galveston Housing Authority is planning three urban, mixed-income residential redevelopments, according to Guidry News. The Galveston Planning Commission unanimously approved the plans last week, and the City Council will review them today.

The news release states:

The plan, which was based largely on community input, will incorporate several urbanism concepts, including green building principles, open spaces, and mixed-income developments.

The GHA believes Wednesday’s vote constitutes a very positive step to provide an adequate supply of safe, affordable housing for Galveston citizens.

What are Galveston Housing Authority’s “Green Principles”?

Ask GHA to elaborate and be specific about which sustainable principles they have used in planning and future design.
