Michelle Obama and twenty-six Washington, DC elementary schoolchildren gathered today on the White House South Lawn to break ground on what will be an 1,100 square ft seasonal produce and herb garden that will provide food for the First Family and their visitors, as well as for a local soup kitchen. The Santa Cruz Sentinel reported on the story.
Eat the View provides more information on the event and their campaign to encourage people to plant high-impact food gardens in high-profile places.
