City of Dickinson Mayor Julie Masters will serve as the new President of the Texas Municipal League Region 14, covering a 17 County area around the Houston region, according to Guidry News:
As Region 14’s President, Mayor Masters will be closely involved in developing educational programs and workshops for city officials and in advocating measures to meet the needs of cities and their residents in this region as well as across the entire State.
The Texas Municipal League supports programs benefiting the cities of the region and the State. It develops and advocates for legislative issues on behalf of its members for consideration by the Texas Legislature, and provides training for cities throughout Texas. Region 14 serves the Texas Gulf Coast and surrounding area in a 17 county region.
Elected to serve as the organization’s 2011-2012 officers along with Mayor Masters are its First Vice President, Mayor Pro Tem Scott Sherman of Pearland; Second Vice President, Mayor Bert Miller of Navasota; and Regional Director, Council Member Thomas Abraham of Sugar Land.
