Dickinson City Council voted unanimously to approve a resolution of support for Texas House Bill No. 578, which proposes protecting funds for transit services in smaller areas from impacts of the 2010 census, according to Guidry News.
“As the result of the recent census, however, there is a good possibility we will be moved into the Houston Urbanized Area, which means any funds attributable to Dickinson would go to Houston Metro, and we have no faith any of those funds would be used for the benefit of our City,” Dickinson City Council Member Kerry Neves said in his report on the meeting.
