The Harris County Commissioners Court unanimously approved $11.9 million in Grand Parkway engineering contracts Tuesday morning. The 17 contracts are in addition to 13 others approved two weeks ago and worth $9.8 million. Between the two rounds of contracts, the commissioners have approved almost $22 million for Segment E. The segment is expected to receive $181 million from the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act.
Art Storey, head of the Harris County Public Infrastructure Department, informed the commissioners that the county received a signed copy of the advance funding agreement from the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) earlier in the morning. The county commissioners approved the agreement on February 24 and the Texas Transportation commissioners on February 26, but Amadeo Saenz, Jr., the executive director of TxDOT, had not signed the document until now.

What companies are receiving these contracts and are they contributors to the Harris County Commissioners or the Texas Department of Transportation?
