Urban land expert Christopher Leinberger of the Brookings Institution will highlight Central Houston’s 27th annual meeting. Leinberger will focus on “Investing in Urbanism,” a topic he has explored in his book The Option of Urbanism, Investing in a New American Dream”
Leinberger is a noted land use strategist and developer, and is an expert in downtown development and design strategy. He makes the case that what he calls “walkable urbanism” is the ascendant market paradigm and that what he calls “drivable sub-urbanism” is in decline.
The luncheon will also include speakers City of Houston Mayor Annise Parker, and Harris County Judge Ed Emmett, .
