The Texas Transportation Commission (TTC), the governing board of the Texas Department of Transportation, will hold a special meeting at 10 a.m. on Thursday, March 5, to vote on a list of stimulus projects. The list includes $181 million to begin construction of Segment E of the Grand Parkway between I-10 and U.S. 290. The Houston-Galveston Area Council’s Transportation Policy Council unanimously approved a list of Houston-area stimulus projects on Friday, February 27.
The TTC approved a list of maintenance projects receiving stimulus funding on Thursday, February 26, but delayed the vote on new roads for one week. The maintenance projects will receive almost $506 million.

The meeting is open to the public, and anyone can sign up to speak before the commission. Sign-up cards are available at the registration table and speakers will be heard on an item before the commission votes. Speakers usually have three minutes to address the commission. There is also an open comment period at the end of each meeting that may last up to an hour.
