Event Details — Texas Stream Team Certified Water Monitoring Training
The Texas Stream Team program is holding a one-day training session for volunteers to become Certified Water Monitors. Volunteers will be trained to collect quality-assured information that can be used to make environmentally sound decisions about our region's waterways.
Currently, over 400 Texas Stream Team volunteers collect water quality data on lakes, rivers, and streams. Volunteers complete three phases of training using a test kit that measures water's physical and chemical properties. Each volunteer will collect and test water samples once a month, from the same site(s) at the same time of day each month, with a two-year commitment. Monitoring takes approximately one to two hours.
Those interesting in volunteering must register by February 25. Seating for the certification training is limited.

Texas Stream Team is administered through a cooperative partnership between
Texas State University, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
