A public comment period for the draft version of the 2011-2014 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) started on Tuesday, May 25 and will end on Friday, June 24, 2010 at 5:00 pm. A public meeting will be held on June 17, 2010 at 5:30 p.m. at the H-GAC offices, 3555 Timmons Lane, 2nd Floor Conference Room A, Houston, TX 77027.
The public is encouraged to attend and provide comments to H-GAC. All written comments may be submitted to Transportation Public Information, Houston-Galveston Area Council, P.O. League City, TX 77573The Draft 2011-2014 TIP is a multimodal program of transportation infrastructure and service improvements planned for implementation in the Houston Region over the next four years. It includes projects of regional significance for which federal, state and local funding has been assigned.
The TIP contains the program of projects for each of the region’s transit providers: the Metropolitan Transit Authority (METRO), Harris County Transit Services Division, Fort Bend County Transit, the Gulf Coast Center’s Connect Transit, Colorado Valley Transit, the City of Galveston’s Island Transit and The District. This public notice and public comment period will satisfy the federal public notice requirements for each of the transit providers regarding its transit program of projects. The proposed program of project, unless amended, will meet the requirements regarding the final program of projects. Upon amendment, H-GAC will make available a final publication of the program of projects.
In compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, H-GAC will provide for reasonable accommodations for person attending H-GAC functions. Requests from persons needing special accommodations should be received by H-GAC staff 24 hours prior to a function. The public meeting will be conducted in English, and requests for language interpreters or other special communication needs should be made at least two working days prior to a function.
