Event Details — March 13 deadline for public comments on Gulf of Mexico Alliance Draft Action Plan
The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) is taking public comments until March 13 on the
Gulf of Mexico Alliance Draft Action Plan II, created by the Gulf of Mexico Alliance. The Gulf of Mexico Alliance is a governor-initiated partnership between the states of Alabama, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas, with the goal of significantly increasing regional collaboration to enhance the ecological and economic health of the Gulf of Mexico.
The plan identifies six priority issues:
Water Quality for Healthy Beaches and Shellfish Beds
Habitat Conservation and Restoration
Ecosystem Integration and Assessment
Nutrients and Nutrient Impacts
Coastal Community Resilience
Environmental Education
The Draft Action Plan II will cover the next five years. After
reviewing the document, please complete an
online questionnaire. It contains eight questions and should take between 10 and 20 minutes to complete.
