The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is seeking public comment on its 2011-2015 Strategic Plan. The deadline for comments is Friday, May 28 at 5 pm.
TxDOT states:
[The] 34-page document ... defines the department’s goals and objectives and establishes strategic initiatives that reflect a move toward a more performance-driven, multimodal agency.
Included in the plan are recommended performance measures that allow the agency to track and evaluate achievement levels for strategic goals and objectives. The agency will track performance measures through TxDOT Tracker, a new, one-stop Web application for viewing on-going performance in areas of safety, construction, pavement and bridge condition, finance, design, right of way and more.
The 2011-2015 Strategic Plan supports the 2035 Statewide Long-Range Transportation Plan and includes roads, rail, transit, pedestrians and bicycles, aviation, and ports and waterways.
Comments may be submitted online or in writing to John Sabala, Strategic Policy and Performance Management Office, Texas Department of Transportation, 125 E. 11th Street, Austin, Texas 78701 or FAX to 512 936-9530.
TxDOT is also holding a public meeting in Houston on Thursday, May 6 to seek input. The meeting will be held from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the TxDOT Houston District auditorium at 7600 Washington Avenue (map).
The agency’s new Rail Division, formed last year, is also developing a State Rail Plan, and it is seeking public input. A visioning workshop will be held on Monday, May 17 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm, also at the TxDOT Houston District auditorium.
