METRO is starting the process of selecting artists to create artwork for the University Corridor light rail stations with two workshops this week. The workshops will focus on brainstorming themes for station artwork that reflect the community and its residents and selecting individuals to participate in meetings regarding the University Corridor public art program. Residents are encouraged to attend.
The first meeting, on Thursday, January 29 at 6 pm, will discuss the stations on the eastern portion of the line.
This is the second and final meeting, addressing the stations on the western part of the line: Hillcroft Transit Center, Gulfton, Bellaire, Newcastle, Weslayan, Cummins, Edloe, Kirby, Shepherd, Menil, Montrose, and Wheeler.
Below is a map of the stations.
