The Houston-Galveston Area Council (H-GAC) is hosting an event on Thursday, April 29 entitled, “The Power of Transit: Learning from Peer Regions.” The workshop, which is based on work from the H-GAC Regional Transit Framework study, begins at 7:30 am and lasts until 12:30 pm. It will take place at the Hyatt Regency Downtown (map). Registration is $25; elected officials can register for free.

Executives from six transit agencies around the nation will be here on April 29th to discuss the successes, achievements and challenges their agencies have experienced in planning, developing, and delivering regional transit services.
The panelists include John T. Crocker of the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority, Todd Plesko of Dallas Area Rapid Transit, Bruce Abel of Denver’s Regional Transportation District, Paul Jablonski of San Diego’s Metropolitan Transit System, and Greg Walker of Seattle’s Sound Transit.
