Event Details — National Summit on Children and the Outdoors

Join the National Wildlife Federation on Saturday, April 10, 2010 in Houston, TX at the JW Marriott Houston Hotel (map) for a national summit to advance a national policy agenda to connect children with the outdoors. The summit will highlight leading state and federal policy solutions to the problem of children’s diminishing contact with nature, according to an event website, which includes the following information:

• National children’s health and recreation experts will analyze the problem and recommend solutions

• State political leaders will highlight efforts to create state strategic plans to connect children with the outdoors

• Federal political leaders will highlight federal strategies to address the problem, including the 21st Century Youth Conservation Corps, No Child Left Inside legislation, and other strategies
