Event Details — 2009 Houston National Summer Transportation Institute begins: high school students wanted
Area high school students interested in learning about career opportunities in the transportation industry are encouraged to attend the Center for Transportation Training and Research's (CTTR) 2009 Houston National Summer Transportation Institute (HNSTI) on the campus of Texas Southern University.
In July, TSU is also partnering with College of the Mainland and Lamar University to offer new Institute programs in Texas City (TCNSTI) and Beaumont (BNSTI).
As part of the Institute's curriculum, students will attend a Transportation Advisory Committee (TAC) meeting at Houston-Galveston Area Coucil (H-GAC) and an accompanying planning workshop. H-GAC staff from several areas of expertise will be present to discuss key ideas, strategies, and techniques for integrating land use and transportation planning, equity, environmental issues, traffic safety, modeling, GIS, and more.
For more information on these programs, exact schedules, and locations, contact Dr. Carol Lewis at 713.313.1925, and see the
CTTR webpage.
